Meet the Bernedoodle!

Bernedoodles are becoming increasingly popular for their combination of traits from the Bernese Mountain Dog (BMD) and the poodle. These traits typically include a smart, loyal and fun-goofy dog! They can be attention hogs and are always seeking to please their owners. 

Some dogs exhibit more of the Bernese and some more of the poodle. Often times, this poodle mix is lower energy than other doodles. While daily exercise is always encouraged, indoor play or a quick game of fetch will tire them out. 

Bernese Mountain Dogs are not only calm but also very loyal. They are protective of their family unit and prefer to be with their humans. Make sure you socialize your Bernese Mountain Dog with other dogs and people from an early age to prevent them from becoming too shy as adults. It is common that these dogs display some level of stubbornness- though will follow commands flawlessly during training. 

Poodles are bred to so many different breeds because of their amazing traits!! The poodle coat does not shed and is typically soft and curly. They are an intelligent dog breed that is easy to train and eager to please. 

Poodles are historically a sporting or hunting dog that were bred for water activities because of their speed, stamina and agility. The poodle thrives is almost all environments, making them a perfect pair with the BMD. 

Just because poodles don't shed doesn't mean bernedoodles won't shed either or be a hypoallergenic dog. Bernedoodles usually shed very little and are hypoallergenic, which means they are less likely to cause allergic reactions in people.

Bernedoodles come in different sizes, and the size of a Bernedoodle will depend on the size of its Poodle parent. Standard Bernedoodles are the largest and can weigh between 70 and 90 pounds and stand 23 to 29 inches tall at the shoulder. Miniature Bernedoodles, on the other hand, weigh between 25 and 49 pounds and stand 18 to 22 inches tall at the shoulder. There are also tiny or micro Bernedoodles, which are even smaller and weigh between 10 and 24 pounds.

It's essential to note that a Bernedoodle's size will not only depend on the size of its Poodle parent but also on its Bernese Mountain Dog parent. As such, it's crucial to check the size of both parents when selecting a Bernedoodle puppy.

Meet the Family

We are the Maley's! A family of 6 that recently embarked upon a journey to move across the country. We left many loved ones and the cold weather behind in Michigan and took up residence in sunny Northern California! Our 4 small human kids and 4 furry kids have enjoyed spending lots of time outside since our arrival. 

Several years back we were looking for a dog breed that would make a great family friendly dog, one who would be easy to train, laid back and not demanding regular exercise. We love the low energy laziness of the large breeds but are heartbroken by their short life spans. We were also drawn to the non-shedding aspect of the poodle and other doodles. 

One day, out on a walk we came across a bernedoodle. We were not only impressed by her beauty and uniqueness, but her calm, laidback demeanor. We knew that day that the berneododle was for us.

After lots of research and time, we found our Tula. Tula is the first female dog we had in our program, but she will soon be retired. She will remain with us for the rest of her days. 

Though Tula will soon be retired, her bloodline lives on in our program. Her son, Deeds, is and will be the father to many pups. He's a silly, laid-back dog who loves cuddles and attention.

Our Standard Poodle, River is our other founding female. She has so much personality, and the softest, curliest coat you've ever seen.

Ruby, the latest addition to our tribe is a traditional tri-colored bernedoodle. She is so fast and fearless! Her coat is straight but non-shedding. We are looking forward to seeing the pups she produces down the road. 

Our dogs are part of our family. They sleep inside, clean up after baby's dinner mess, curl up and cuddle for a movie and enjoy playing catch or hide and seek with the kids! They bring so much joy to our lives. Our bernedoodles for sale have brought so much joy to our lives, and we're thrilled to see how they continue to bring happiness to their new families.

Tula

Meet Tula! She is a F1 tri-color merle Bernedoodle! She is very smart and affectionate, honestly the best dog we have ever owned. She is good with the kids, loves attention and training.

She excels in advanced obedience and agility and has a blast while doing it! We have thoroughly enjoyed watching her be a mom nearly as much as she has enjoyed being one. 

Tula has been tested for genetic diseases and doesn't have any. Tulas has good to excellent OFA scores.

River

Meet River! She is a small standard Poodle with Phantom Markings (black and tan/silver). She is energetic, super smart and very affectionate. She is full of personality and makes us laugh regularly.

River has been tested and cleared of genetic diseases. 

River has normal to excellent OFA scores. 

Deeds

Deeds is an F1B Standard Bernedoodle. Even though he weighs less than 70 pounds, he's a big goofball! He is very responsive to correction and very submissive to the females in the house.

His floppy, bouncy, loving, laziness makes him a perfect fit for our family. He will sire many litters in our program. 

 Deeds has been tested and cleared of genetic diseases. Deeds has good to excellent OFA scores. Inquire directly for info on stud service or coat/color genetics.

Ruby

Ruby is an F1 bernedoodle. She is energetic for a bernedoodle. Though young, she is very fast. She loves to hurdle over landscape features and impress us with her physicality.

Not only is she very agile, she is very smart. She turns on training mode and does what we want before the command is even given! Her first litter is planned for winter/spring 2023!
